Example configurations
Example shift configurations, from a weekly rotation to follow-the-sun.
Basic and nested schedules can be combined into almost any rotation. The examples below show how.
If none of these match, contact us and we’ll help you build the schedule.
The tables on these pages use the internal names for days and assignees. In the app’s shift configuration, Weekdays
is shown as Every Weekday, Weekends as Sat, Sun, BEST_MEMBER as Best member and [Not assigned] as
[Not assigned]. A reference to another schedule’s role is shown as the schedule’s name, followed by (Primary) or
(Secondary) when that schedule has a secondary role.
Starting templates
The Daily, Weekly,
Business hours only and Business and after-hours
examples are offered as starting templates when you create a new schedule: click Create new schedule on the
Schedules page, choose Start from a template, then pick the example. You can change the handover times before the schedule is created.
- Weekly shift Demonstrates a simple schedule changing between members once a week at a specified date and time.
- Daily shift Demonstrates a simple schedule changing between members at 9am every day.
- Business hours only shifts (schedule contains gaps) Demonstrates a schedule assigning members only during business hours with gaps in between the shifts.
- Separate business and after-hours shifts (within team) Demonstrates a schedule with different business and after-hours shifts every day.
- Separate business and after-hours shifts (delegated to a partner team) Demonstrates a schedule with after-hours shifts handled by a different partner team.
- Follow the sun (2 locations) Demonstrates a schedule balancing two 12-hour shifts between a UK and US west coast pair of teams.
- Follow the sun (multiple locations) Demonstrates a schedule balancing three 8-hour shifts that follow the sun around the globe.
